Raising Awareness About Racism

Sijan Chapter Members joined Peterson AFB personnel in a 5K hike on June 13^th to come together as a military community in a show of solidarity in hopes to bring awareness and compassion to a very sensitive and complex topic.  Participants were asked to bring an open mind and an open heart for the event on the Santa Fe Trail.  The event focused on having a moments to express, to listen, to understand, and to reflect on equality and racism.  IAW with COVID-19 guideline, the hikers wore masks or maintained social distancing. Personnel joined 9 other bases around the world in this event to foster healthy and productive relationships.
