 President’s Comments/Update (Angelo Bryant)

– Covid-19 updates: postures are staying about the same as the COVID continues to spread

– Wreath: Willie gave the discussion on the wreath; he gave some background on the Wreath Across America; and national cemeteries; there’s none at Pikes Peak National Cemetery; and they can be purchased; nothing is happening at the cemetery on Veteran’s Day. Paul is attending one at Memorial Park and they’re laying a wreath there…up to 75 can attend that. Linda brought up the Pueblo Cemetery. Paul provided the following information (published in the quarterly newsletter)

REMEMBER the Fallen. . . HONOR those who Serve. . .

On Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 10:00 AM, Wreaths Across America will be at Pikes Peak National Cemetery to Remember and Honor our Veterans. Through the laying of Remembrance Wreaths on the graves of our country’s fallen heroes, the individual who lay’s a wreath will say the name of each and every Veteran aloud. Also on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 10:00 AM, Wreaths Across America will be at Evergreen Cemetery to Remember and Honor our veterans through the laying of Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country’s fallen heroes and the act of saying the name of each and every veteran aloud. — Gerald made motion to purchase two new wreaths; Linda seconded and it passed; Paul will use the existing Sijan wreath at the ceremony tomorrow. We may need more than one for the future;

– Sijan Chapter updates: Welcomed Paul to the team as State VP for Government Relations; Linda explained that he will be updating Congressional contact information and will be coordinating with the chapter for updating complimentary memberships.  The membership means we can send the AFA magazine and legislative updates from AFA to them.

– Fundraiser for Scholarships (Pampered Chef) Results: Made $239 out of $700+ in sales; great job
