A solid group gathered the afternoon of June 22nd at the Colorado Mountain Brewery on Interquest Parkway. We had a comfortable separate room, dedicated service, and good food. As before, a beverage ticket awarded each guest who showed our online invitation. Of the ten who attended, most were chapter members refreshing their commitment to the Association. All volunteered to help with tasks supporting chapter projects such as STEM Education Programs, IMAGE Golf Tournament, the upcoming August social, and other efforts.
A dual purpose of this social was to recognize the volunteer service of US Air Force Academy Protocol specialist Phillip Taylor, who has been reassigned to Hanscom AFB, Massachusetts. Phillip has stepped up many times, from an extemporaneous speech touting the Sijan chapter at the Joint Defense and Space Organizations holiday party to a helping hand whenever needed. His gaining unit will hear of his support to the AFA and his community.
The table conversation even produced another volunteer for a needed chapter function, that of VP of Community Partners. That’s batting 1,000 so far; two socials, two chapter-officer volunteers. When they are officially appointed, their bios will appear on the chapter website. We also gained a couple new members and membership renewals.
Hold your breath to hear the date of the August social.
