President’s Comments/Update (Doc Apodaca)
– AF Ball – Caty can’t be here but the ball meetings with begin soon; will set date for first meeting

Rodeo is coming up which will tie up Doc significantly; so please try Angelo first.

– State Convention and Grand Junction State meeting support—if you can support please do; Doc will be at the Grand Junction meeting (leaving at noon on Friday and return on Saturday, if you need a ride).

State President’s Comments (Linda Aldrich)
– State 2^nd Qtr Meeting in Grand Junction: 2d qtr meeting starting at 9am, June 22^nd, MVEA offices at 2472 Patterson Ave. Unit 13 (West side of town near the Mesa Mall); and will send out a call-in number

Community Partnership Reception:  Tuesday, July 23^rd 6-8pm Atrium of Lockheed-Martin building 1150 Academy Park Loop; all board members should be there; will send Angelo info for Constant Contact

– Colorado State Convention in Aurora—honoring all active duty military, volunteers, etc. We need the reps there. August 17 Awards Banquet starts at 6pm; business meeting is the afternoon at Raddison Hotel Denver (Aurora); we need to decide who will get awards at the State Convention. Send a note to Doc /Angelo of who you would like to have recognized at the Awards Banquet (need to get awards prior)

– National Convention--Don Kidd has resigned as regional president and Linda has been asked to be the acting RP; elections will be held at the Nat’l Convention Sept 14-15

– Newsletter Inputs—if you’ve got pictures and info send in ASAP. Highlighting Kelly Johnson in Spotlight on Our Volunteers, but could have someone else too if need be; thanks to Willie for coverage of Memorial Day event
