Good Evening I’m SMSgt Gerald Morey the VP for AFA Lance P. Sijan Chapter #125. Our Chapter representing the Front Range Area and we are one of the largest and most active AFA chapters in the nation, with more than 2300 members.  We call ourselves the “Force behind the Force” because we exist for one primary purpose: to support the Colorado Springs Air Force and Space Force family.  Membership is a mix of active duty, veterans, and retirees, all with a common desire to support the Air Force and its members. We meet every 2^nd Tuesday of the month. Due to Social distancing restraints, we are forced to meet virtually to ensure the health of our members, but we are looking into new and innovative ways to meet, sort of like what we are doing here tonight. We are determined not to let 2020 stopping us from achieving our primary mission to advocate, education and support our community. As with most organizations affected by the hindrance to meet we have come up with a few plans to ensure our members know how devoted we are to them. We have a couple general membership meetings (virtual and in person once available), as well as Community Partner engagements, IMAGE Golf tournament and of course our most coveted event the “Air Force Ball”, which is scheduled for the fall of next year. Our theme will be “The Total Force”, because we believe in supporting our civilian, government (Air Force and Space Force), Veterans and Industry partners. Please stay tuned for tickets sales and mark your calendars to come and celebrate with us.

Traditionally our associations have gathered annually for a cohosted end of year get together, but like all things 2020 we needed to be creative and reinvent our holiday reception.
