This upcoming event is focused on helping Homeless Veterans, but all Veterans are invited to this event. Do a Google search for this event or go to www.epchvc.org for more information and also information where you can be a volunteer helping to support this event.  What is a Stand-Down?  Stand Downs are typically events during which VA staff and volunteers provide food, clothing and health screenings to homeless, at-risk or abused Veterans.  In addition, Veterans also receive referrals for health care, housing solutions, employment, substance use treatment, mental health counseling and other essential services.  VA and community representatives from the VA and Rocky Mountain Human Services will be present for VA Claims Assistance and DD-214 Assistance as well as assistance for Veterans truly in need, offering clothing, boots, personal care items, as well as offering hot lunches.  Flu shots will also be available.  The event will be at the Colorado Springs City Auditorium, 221 E. Kiowa St, downtown Colorado Springs.  Should you know of a Veteran in need, please direct that person to this event.
