CMSGT Bruce Hall retired from the U.S. Air Force in May 2006 as the Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA) to the Superintendent, Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) Region 1, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. He advised the Region 1 commander concerning issues of readiness, welfare and morale, and utilization of enlisted personnel at Region 1 Headquarters and subordinate detachments throughout the continental United States. OSI assignments required liaison with local, state, and U.S. officials, military and civilian, as well as U.S. and host nation elected officials and appointees, including U.S. ambassadors. Chief Hall’s last active-duty assignment was as the Superintendent, AFOSI Region 8, Peterson AFB, Colo., from April 2002 to September 2004.
Chief Hall enlisted with the Montana Air National Guard in April 1972. He trained as a Security Specialist (Honor Graduate) at Lackland AFB, Texas, and later as a Law Enforcement Specialist with the 120th Fighter-Interceptor Group, Great Falls International Airport, Great Falls, Montana. In September 1976 Technical Sergeant Hall transferred to the Air Force Reserve, assigned as an IMA with AFOSI, Bolling AFB, Washington D.C. He was initially attached to the OSI detachment at Malmstrom AFB, Great Falls, Montana. He served as an AFOSI Special Agent and Special Agent-in-Charge at OSI detachments on CONUS bases and at foreign duty locations in the Azores, Ecuador, England, France, Germany, the Netherlands, South Korea, Oman, Panama, and elsewhere.
Following his Air Force career, Mr. Hall became a consultant with a U.S. Department of Defense contractor. He first was detailed to the Combined Intelligence and Fusion Center, Peterson AFB, as an analyst in the Counterintelligence and Law Enforcement Cell. He later was detailed to the FBI Southern Colorado Joint Terrorism Task Force, FBI Colorado Springs, again as an analyst, retiring fully in February 2011. Prior to and during his Air Force career, Mr. Hall was a full-time sworn officer of the Great Falls Police Department, Great Falls, Montana, from March 1971 through March 1991, retiring as a Lieutenant. His assignments were Patrol Division officer, Investigations Division detective, Patrol sergeant, Services Division training officer/public information officer, training director, and Patrol shift commander. His work life began as a farm kid.
