Chapter Members
My final note to you, our Chapter membership, is both one of thanks and a request. Thank you for your support to the men and women who wear our Nation’s uniforms. Thank you for your support of our local Air Force installations, leadership and missions. And thank you for all you do to support the Lance P. Sijan Chapter of your Air Force Association. What we do every year to support our Air Force and those who wear its uniforms would not be possible without you. Your generosity in both time and money is a constant need. And that gets to my “ask”.
Please don’t stop. I am extremely confident our new Chapter President, Kristen Christy, and Vice President, MSgt Tim Tichawa, will bring new energy to the Board and membership. But as much now as ever before, they will need your help. Please continue to support your local AFA Chapter. Please participate in our activities, and please continue to be generous when asked to give of your time or money.
The slightest bit helps. We are always in need of volunteers to take on new or expanding efforts. And we can always use more funding. Every little bit counts. For example, when you use amazon.com, use amazonsmile.com instead. Amazon Smile allows you to select a charity of your choice, and contributes a portion of every sale to that charity. Please consider the Lance P. Sijan Chapter when you are making contributions to the annual Combined Federal
Campaign. Also many of your company giving campaigns have an option to specify a registered charity and match funds. Our need to support of our Air Force continues to grow and subsequently, the need for your help continues to grow.
Finally, a personal thanks to Linda Aldrich, who served so diligently as the Chapter Vice President for the past four years. She has been amazing, to say the least. And thanks to all our Board members over the past two years – Kristen Christy, Tim Tichawa, Barb Binn, Bill Houth, Dave Shiller, Jeri Andrews, Paul Bailey, Henry Baird, and Rebecca Decker for their dedication and commitment to our Chapter. I have been proud to be a part of the extraordinary contributions of this great AFA chapter.
Thanks to all who participated in the election process for incoming Sijan Chapter officers. The changeover occurred December 1st and departing Chapter President Don Kidd expressed his confidence in the future of the Chapter under the new leadership. The new board will be busy planning events and the budget for 2017 so the officers are requesting any input for consideration. The immediate plans include general membership meetings and a wider variety of military support to reach out to military spouses as well. Please feel free to contact the new officers via email with any input, or, better yet, please attend the monthly meeting held on the second
